Bookmaker KYC: What It Is, Documents, Timing
KYC (Know Your Customer) is a mandatory process at every licensed bookmaker. Without it you cannot withdraw winnings. This guide explains the documents and how to pass on the first try.
Short answer
Upload: passport / ID photo (both sides), proof of address < 3 months old, selfie with the document. Check takes 1–72 hours. Completing KYC before the first withdrawal speeds up payout.
Prepare the documents in advance
Passport or national ID (both sides), good lighting, no glare. Document must be valid. The name on the document must match your account exactly.
Get proof of address
Accepted: utility bill (electricity, gas, internet), bank statement, phone bill. Must be < 3 months old, with your name and full address matching the account.
Take a selfie with the document
Hold the passport next to your face so both the photo in the document and your face are visible. Do not cover data with fingers. If requested, write today's date and the site name on a sheet.
Upload via the account dashboard
Section "Verification" / "Documents". Formats: JPG, PNG, PDF, up to 10 MB. Do not email — use the secure upload on the operator site.
Wait for the check
Average: 1–24 h at top operators, up to 72 h at newer ones. On rejection you get a comment. Most common: glare, cropped corner, expired document, address mismatch.
FAQ
Is KYC mandatory?
Yes, at every licensed bookmaker. You can place bets without KYC but you cannot withdraw. It is an AML/CFT requirement.
What if my document is in a different language?
Most operators accept any Latin-script document. Cyrillic may require notarised translation. English / French / German / Spanish are always accepted.
Can I use a travel passport?
Yes — travel passport is the most preferred document. National ID is also accepted but less reliably. Driving licence is accepted by some operators only.
How many times do I need KYC?
Once at first withdrawal or on demand. Re-verification if documents expire, address changes, or enhanced due diligence is triggered (large withdrawal, unusual activity).
